I am teaching my son Takeh to gargle.
I teach him to rinse out his mouth and spit out the water, but he often swallows the water right after he puts it in his mouth.
He looks up at me with a shy smile on his face and says, “Oh no, I accidentally drank it. That’s cute.
The toothpaste he is currently using has fluoride in it. So he doesn’t need to rinse his mouth out after brushing. In fact, if you rinse your mouth, the fluoride that coated your teeth will run off.
But I like to see him smile, so I continue the gargling lesson.
After about half a month, he is able to gargle well. While I am happy to see his growth, I am a little disappointed that I no longer see his shy smile.
