While shopping at the camp store, my son Takeh put a bag of chips in the basket, saying, “I want chips.”
We don’t give our kids junk food often, so he hardly ever eats chips.
When he orders a kids’ meal at a restaurant, he only eats the fries that come with it. That’s why it surprised me that he remembered chips and found a bag on the shelf, saying, “I want some chips.”
I knew he would prioritize remembering things he enjoys.
Lately, he has been reading many picture books, and he has learned many animal names. Unfortunately, potato chips were not in any of the picture books, so he only remembered a few words he heard.
I understand how irresistible potato chips can be.
Actually, I used to love potato chips when I was a kid. My mom used to give me a bag of chips whenever I did well on practice exams in my cram school. My mom used to give me a bag of chips whenever I did well on practice exams in my cram school. I’ll probably pass this tradition down to my kids.
